Description

The Diploma in Computer Engineering program is aimed to develop middle-level trained technicians who are up to date on computer science and information abilities in order to keep up with the rapid pace of technological change. Many individuals in industrialized, developing, and underdeveloped nations have been encouraged to use computers more widely. In both the public and private sectors, computer engineering has contributed to the world's general growth and created work or employment possibilities.This program is meant to provide technicians with the knowledge and abilities required by Nepal's computer engineering and information technology companies and organizations. The Diploma in Computer Engineering is a three-year curriculum.

There are two semesters in each year. Within a three-year span, there are six semesters in total.The first year courses cover fundamental science disciplines such as physics, chemistry, and maths that are relevant to computer engineering. It also contains language courses such as Nepali and English, which are useful in the field of computer engineering and information technology for communication.

The second-year curriculum focuses on the fundamentals of computer science. Similarly, third-year courses include disciplinary subjects as well as the application of gained skills and knowledge through major and minor projects as well as optional studies in computer engineering-related fields.The "must know and must do" approach is used to include the elements of each topic required in the course. The curriculum's contents are described in minute detail on a micro level.

SALIENT FEATURES

Duration: The total duration of this diploma in computer engineering program is three years. Each year consists of two semesters of six months each. Moreover, one semester consists of 19.5 academic weeks including an evaluation period. Actual teaching learning hours will be not less than 15 weeks in each semester.

Target group: The target group for this programme will be all the interested individuals who have passed SEE with English, Science, and Mathematics or equivalent and related Technical SLC (TSLC).

Group size: The group size will be a maximum of 48(Forty eight) in a batch.

Medium of instruction: The medium of instruction will be in English and/or Nepali.

Pattern of attendance: Minimum of 90% attendance in each subject is required to appear in the respective final examination

Provision of back paper: There will be the provision of back paper but a student must pass all the subjects of all semesters within six years from the enrollment date; however there should be provision of chance exams for final semester students as per CTEVT rules.

Pass marks: The students must secure minimum 40% marks in both theory and practical. Moreover, the students must secure minimum pass marks in the internal assessment and in the semester final examination of each subject to pass the subject.

ELIGIBILITY
SLC Pass or SEE with minimum C grade in Compulsory Mathematics & Science and D+ in English. TSLC in Computer Engineering with a minimum 67.00%.

ADMISSION CRITERIA
Should pass the entrance examination as administered by CTEVT.
